عن الكاتب وليم شكسبير مؤلف كتاب تيطس
William Shakespeare, who is classified as the greatest writer in the English language, was an English poet and playwright. He is often referred to as the "Bard of Avon" and the "National Poet." His works consist of 38 plays, 158 sonnets, two narrative poems, and some other poetry. His plays have been translated into all living languages and have been performed much more than any other playwrights works. Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway and had three children: Susanna, Judith, and Hamnet. Between 1585 and 1592, he began working as an actor and successful playwright in a theater company called Lord Chamberlains Men, later known as the Kings Men. He seems to have retired to Stratford in 1613 at the age of 49, where he died three years later. There are few surviving records of Shakespeares personal life, and there has been much speculation about his physical appearance, sexuality, religious beliefs, and whether the works attributed to him were written by others. Shakespeare produced most of his known works between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were generally comedies and histories, which were characterized by complexity and artistic plot. By the end of the 16th century, he wrote tragedies including King Lear, Hamlet, Othello, and Macbeth, which some consider to be the best works in the English language. In the later years of his life, he wrote tragicomedies and romances and collaborated with other playwrights. Many of his plays were published in various editions of different quality and accuracy during his lifetime. In 1623, the First Folio edition, which collected his dramatic works except for two plays, was published and later recognized as Shakespeares. Shakespeare was a respected poet and playwright in his time, but his fame did not rise to its current height until the 19th century when the Romantics, particularly, acknowledged his genius. His work has been repeatedly rediscovered by new movements in teaching and performance, and his plays continue to be popular to this day. They are continuously studied, staged, and reinterpreted in various cultural and political contexts around the world. Some of his famous quotes include: "To be or not to be, that is the question," "Our hours in love have wings; in absence, crutches," "He who dies before twenty years of age is only shortening his time of fearing death by the same number of years," "No place deserves to be called a noble court if the person assigned to it and occupying it acts maliciously without regard for the rights and feelings of others," "Good men must not associate with evil men," "All the worlds a stage, and all the men and women merely players," "A girl expects nothing from the world except a husband, but when he comes, she demands everything from him," "If you love her, you cannot see her. Why? Because love is blind," "We can do much with the truth, but more with love," "But love is blind, and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that themselves commit," "Great women inspire great men, while intelligent women catch their interest. Beautiful women, however, only elicit admiration but it is the kind, gentle women who ultimately win the great mans heart," "Compassion is the essence of the law, and the law should only be used harshly against tyrants," "Cowards die many times before their deaths, but the valiant taste of death only once," "Silent sorrow whispers in the heart until it breaks it," "We teach others lessons in shedding blood, and if they learn the lesson, they try it on us," "One must wait for the evening to know how great their day has been," "Jealousy is a monster with green eyes," "The wolf would not be a wolf if it werent for the sheep being sheep," "It is not enough to help the weak, one must also support them," "The cruelty of days makes us fearful without fully knowing what scares us. For the things we fear are just illusions," and "The ink of the writers pen is sacred like the blood of a martyr!" "True courage is not to seek revenge, but to endure and be patient," "Through the thorns of danger, we obtain the flowers of peace," "Lovers do not sigh for free, but rather as battalions upon battalions." "You do not see everything you see or hear everything you hear." Some of his works include The Merchant of Venice, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, The Tempest, Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Coriolanus, Titus Andronicus, Timon of Athens, and many others.
